TMSV newsCompletion of cable tram restoration (9 April 2003)
Cable tram dummy No 28 and trailer No 256 being transported to Hawthorn Depot on 8 April 2003. Photograph courtesy Mike Ryan, Department of Infrastructure. The cable tram set that has been under restoration for a couple of years at Malvern Depot has been completed, and is now on loan to the State Government for a period as yet to be determined. These cars, dummy No 28 and trailer No 256, have been finished in MTOC livery as used for Toorak line tramcars. They were moved from Malvern Depot to Hawthorn Depot on 8 April 2003. These vehicles can be viewed by the public on Hawthorn Depot open days. |
